Imperial Construction built a new 20,000 square foot Terminal Radar Approach Control Facility, (TRACON), and an engine generator building. This work was completed inside the Airport Operation Area of Pensacola Regional Airport. It was imperative that power and communication were not lost during construction, and Imperial successfully met that requirement.
This was accompished by bringing two power and communication sources in from outside at different locations and at opposite ends of the building. This, along with antenna systems and generators provided the backup needed to keep things up and running.
