Imperial Construction is undertaking a significant expansion and renovation project at Martin High School. This extensive project includes the addition of a 9,600 square foot Fine Arts facility and comprehensive renovations across the high school campus, alongside the construction of the new Glaspie Field Athletic Complex.
Fine Arts Addition:
The new facility, spanning 9,600 square feet, will feature a modern band hall, individual soundproof practice rooms, a specialized percussion room, administrative offices, and ample storage including equipment lockers, designed to enhance the school's arts programs.
High School Renovations:
The renovation work covers 303,600 square feet and encompasses interior updates such as new paint, ceilings, and lighting. It also includes essential ADA-compliant improvements like the installation of elevators, ramps, and accessible restrooms. Additionally, the project features HVAC system upgrades, exterior site enhancements including new lighting, landscaping, improved drainage, and updated irrigation and signage systems, along with crucial roof repairs.
Glaspie Field Athletic Complex:
Designed to accommodate 10,000 spectators, the new athletic complex will house a football field, track, and softball field. The complex will be equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, concessions stands, restroom facilities, ticket booths, and a three-story press box. To support large events, the facility will offer ample bus parking and a landscaped buffer to minimize impact on surrounding neighborhoods.
Field Houses and Entry Areas:
Home and Visitor Field Houses: Each field house, measuring 6,200 square feet for Home and 6,100 square feet for Visitors, will include locker rooms, shower facilities, coaches' rooms, training and tape rooms, an ice/water area, storage space, and adjacent public restrooms.
Entry Areas: The project features two entry points; a 2,400 square foot second Home Entry Area and a 3,600 square foot separate Visitor Entry Area, each equipped with ticketing, concessions, services, security, and public restrooms.
Press Box and Grand Stand:
The three-story Press Box, totaling 8,144 square feet, includes:
First Floor: Facilities for home and visitor radio, coaches, game operations, security, PA and video systems, restrooms, lounge areas, storage, and an elevator.
Second Floor: A scouts/media area, hospitality services, space for game administration and guests, lounge, restrooms, janitorial/coats storage, and elevator access.
Film/Roof Deck: Features a 349 square foot open deck area.
This comprehensive project is designed to significantly enhance the facilities at Martin High School, promoting an enriched educational and athletic experience for students and the community.
